Shawanda (Roberts) Henderson

Shawanda (Wanda Cat) was born into this life June 19, 1969, to the late Bro. Lurie Roberts and Sis. Hattie O’Field Roberts in Butler, AL.  She departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS.     

Shawanda received her formal education in the Choctaw County School system and was a graduate of Choctaw County High School in Butler, AL.  She was a member of Shiloh C.M.E. Church where she faithfully served and continued to support until her health failed.  She was united in Holy Matrimony with Bro. Michael Henderson. She is preceded in death by her father, Lurie Roberts; granddaughter, Auberigh Pearson; grandmothers, Ella May Jones O’Field & Mary Jean Slay Roberts; grandfathers, Lindsey O’Field & Jefferson Roberts; great-grandmother, Rosie Dubose; mother-in-law, Geraldine Henderson; uncles: Perry O’Field, Harry Lee O’Field, Joe (Lola) Roberts, & Vergie (Myrtle) Slay; aunts: Catherine R. (Tom) House, Audrey M. Roberts, & Shirley Ann Walton.

Shawanda leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted family including her husband, Michael Anthony Henderson of Meridian, MS; her son, Shamarkous {B.J.} (Catiria) Woods {and son, Kingston} of Mobile, AL; her mother, Hattie B. Roberts of Lisman, AL; two daughters, Shuntale (Kunte) Mosley & Telisha Bell {and children, Dequarius Thomas, Jontavius & Tevarrius Adams} all  of Meridian, MS; one stepson, Michael A.J. Henderson of Texas; two stepdaughters, Tia Scott of Starkville, MS & Brooklyn Monroe of Clinton, MS; one sister, Stephanie Roberts Holcombe of Lisman, AL; two brothers, Kelvin & Eric Roberts both of Lisman, AL; three brothers-in-law: Ray Charles, Robert Charles Henderson & Johnny McClelland all of Meridian, MS; one special daughter, Tiffany Roberts of Lisman, AL; special brother, Demond Pittman of Meridian MS; special sister, Mary Roberts of Thomasville, AL; a host of aunts: Cassie (late Charlie) Watson, Betty Franklin, Betty Lynn O’Field, Debra O’Field, Minnie & Anna Roberts all of Lisman, AL, Maggie & Estella Roberts of Marietta, GA; uncles: Willie Fred (Joyce) Roberts & Lurie Walton both of Birmingham, AL, Colie B.
