Brother Ollie Rowe, Jr. was born on June 23, 1939 in Lisman, AL to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ollie & Susie Rowe. “Rowe,” as he was often called, graduated from Choctaw County Training School in 1958. He served his country in United States Army, shortly after, he lived in New York. He would later be employed by Georgia Pacific. He retired after 35 years of employment.
On February 19, 1985, he married the love of his life, his beautiful and caring wife, Soffie Rowe. He devoted his life to Christ at an early age. At St Mark CME Church, Lisman, AL, he served as a dedicated Stewardess and Sunday school superintendent. He was an active member of the VFW Post 3223, Butler, AL. He departed this life on February 18, 2021 surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his children Ollie Rowe, III and Chiquita Rowe, one brother, Lurie Rowe and one sister, Annie Jewel Price.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Soffie Rowe; two brothers, Wilmer Rowe and Harold Rowe; five sisters, Willie Jenkins, Earnestine (Herman) Farley, Jerry D. Davis, Bobbie (Frank) Montanez, and Ada (Bernard) Adamson; two step-daughters, Angela (Rodney) Dubose and Michandra Pringle; 7 grandchildren, Rosie Campbell, Demetrius Rowe, Larry D. Rowe, Quindarius Pringle, JaShadrick Pringle, Tiera Pringle, Quaniya Dubose, Trashun Gray; 8 great grandchildren; special friends, Luther Edwards and The One Stop Crew (Doug, Gladys, Linda, & Billy); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, colleagues, and friends.
