Lee Andrew McRae

Lee Andrew McRae was born on February 25, 1962, to the late Curtis Edward McRae and Edna Mae McRae of Lisman, AL.

He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Yantley, AL.  Lee was a 1980 graduate of Choctaw County High School in Butler, AL. He graduated from Hinds Jr. College in Jackson, MS. He married Faye Meyers on May 25, 1994.

Lee worked at KLLM and Conway for many years.  He was a member of the Million Mile Accident-Free Driver’s Club and Louisiana Motor Transport Association, Inc. Safety Management Council Champion.  He worked for Conway for over 20 years before being forced to retire due to his failing health in 2014.

The life of Lee A. McRae ended on October 6, 2022, at his home in Lafayette, LA. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: his supportive wife, Faye Meyers-McRae, of Lafayette, LA; his affectionate and compassionate mother, Edna McRae, of Lisman, AL; four children- Kendrick (Latoya) Davis of Tuscaloosa, AL; Andreal Nichols of Carthage, MS; LeAnna McRae and Keithan Richard of Lafayette, LA. One step-daughter, Joy Meyers.  Two sisters, Annie (Donnie) Berry of Racine, WI, and Kenya McRae of Huntsville, AL.  One sister-in-law, Jackie McRae of Racine, WI.   Four grandchildren - Alyssa McRae, Akeelah Nichols, Kensley Davis, and Landen McRae.  He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lee was preceded in death by his committed father, Curtis E. McRae; two brothers - Gregory L. McRae, and Dominic T. McRae. One step-brother, Doug Ruffin.  One stepson, JaVaugh Meyers.
