ALFA~ Mrs. Laura Napier Godfrey, one of eight children, was born September 25, 1919 to Guy and Estelle Napier.
LIFE~ Mrs. Laura was united in marriage to Jim Godfrey, they were blessed with a loving and devoted daughter, Doris Godfrey Howard. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Womack Hill, AL. She leaves a legacy of love and faithfulness. A woman of strength and dependability, she loved to cook for everybody and she love growing flowers. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
OMEGA~ On her 101st birthday, Mrs. Laura departed this life, September 25, 2020 at Choctaw Health and Rehab Nursing Home, Butler, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim Godfrey; sister, Ida Bell Pace; three brothers, Lynn Napier, Augusta Napier and Ealon Napier, and a great-grandchild.
LEGACY~ Left to cherish their memories of her are, daughter and son-in law Doris and Jerry Howard, Needham, AL,; three grandchildren, Kevin (Dana) Hayes, Meridian, MS, Yumiko Howard, Needham, AL and Farrah Howard, Melvin, AL,; six great– grandchildren, Bree, Kearrah and Keion Lewis, Skylar Chatman, Dylan and Kaiden Hayes; one sister, Lola Pugh, Coffeeville, AL,; two brothers, A C(Mary) Napier, Butler, AL. and Charles (Ann) Napier, Troy, AL, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, four very special people, whom she loved dearly, Phyllis Grayson, Pamela Thompson, Renata Williams, and Betty, all of whom took very good care of her during her stay at Choctaw Health and Rehab Nursing Home, also two special and dear friends; Rose Robinson and Rose Causey.
