Joe N. “Do Man” Payton was born on January 17, 1953 to the late B.P. and Johnny Muriel Payton in Lisman, AL. Joe departed this life on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Rush Hospital Specialty Unit, with his beloved wife by his side.
He joined Shiloh CME Church at an early age and accepted Jesus Christ in his teens.
Joe attended primary and secondary school at Lisman School, formerly known as, Choctaw County Training School. He also attended high school at Choctaw County High School in Butler, AL.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Shirley McDaniel on July 17, 1972, to this union five children were born.
Joe was a fun, loving person, who always had a smile and a joke for everyone. He loved people and they loved him. He loved his wife, children and family. Joe loved God. If you ever heard him sing, you could feel the spirit of God. He was honest and would tell you the truth.

Wornsby, Mobile, AL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
