Georgia Mae Gordon McRae was born June 5, 1931 to the late George Gordon and Clora Crowell, who preceded her in death.
She was a beautiful soul, who accepted Christ at an early age, and joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Yantley, Alabama. She was a member of Brookins Chapter #166, and a model employee of Vanity Fair Mills in Butler, Alabama for 29 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Junior McRae; two sons, Alvin McRae and George McRae; five (5) sisters, Frances Gordon, Annie L. Moss, Ella P. Horn, Ida M. Spears, and Ruth Keeton; two (2) brothers, L.V. Gordon and Samuel Gordon.
In this union, they were blessed with seven children. Four (4) girls, Ira Jean Cole, Las Vegas, Nevada; Pearlie Reed, Yantley, Alabama; Clora O’Field, Jachin, AL; Fannie (Ronny) Reed, Yantley, Alabama; two (2) sons, Ronnie (Callie) McRae, Yantley, Alabama; Sammie Holcombe, Cleveland, Ohio. She was a loving grandmother with twenty (20) grandchildren, thirty-six (36) great-grandchildren, eleven (11) great-great grandchildren; three (3) brothers, R.D. Gordon, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Johnny Gordon, Birmingham, Alabama; Johnny Graham, Riderwood, Alabama; a devoted uncle and aunt who raised her, Roosevelt and Robin Gordon; along with a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
