On April 1, 1960, a son was born to Dan William Knott, Sr. and Mildred W. Knott. He was named Frederick.
At an early age he joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Nickname, “Scookie”, as he grew up in Yantley, Alabama.
He attended Choctaw County High School in Butler, Alabama. He later moved to Jackson, Mississippi, where he worked at the Sun & Sand Hotel for many years.
He departed this earthly life on September 10, 2021 at Forest Manor Apartment, Butler, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Dan and Mildred Knott; stepfather, John L. Ruffin; brother, Dan Knott, Jr.; brother-in-law, Otis Fryer; step-brother, Johnny Ruffin.
Left to cherish his precious memories: three (3) daughters, Janada (Jamal) Davenport of Athens Georgia; Krystal Knott of Jackson, Mississippi; Naya Fluker of Atlanta, Georgia; one (1) granddaughter, Jaliyah Davenport of Athens, Georgia; one (1) sister, Patricia Fryer of Butler, Alabama; three (3) brothers, William Knott of Akron, Ohio; Andre (Rilinda) Knott of Akron, Ohio; Toby Knott of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; three (3) step-brothers, Rev. Willie James (Minister Carol) Ruffin, Louis Ruffin, Earl (Bertha) Ruffin; four (4) step-sisters, Versie, Mary, Clarine, Glenda (Rev. Byrd); a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
