Donald Ray Leverett, Jr. was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and nephew.
Our lives were forever changed, as our dearly loved, Don Jr, suddenly left this world on January 22, 2023 in Meridian, Mississippi.
On March 20, 1982, Don was the first child born to Donald and Fannie Wallace Leverett, Sr. in Meridian, Mississippi.
Donald joined the Pineville Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastoral Leadership of the late Reverend Odell Gray, Jr. He was a graduate of Choctaw County High School, Butler, Alabama in 2000, and joined the US Army in October 2000. After returning home, he pursued many job opportunities, with the latest being employed with IHOP in Meridian, Mississippi. Don’s greatest joy was sports and enjoying family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, Donald and Fannie Wallace Leverett, Sr.; two sons, Dontavious Leverett and Kaston M. Leverett; a daughter, Raelyn; grandson, Kayson Riley; two brothers, Dexter J. Leverett, Sr. (Brenda) and Emeria Austin; one sister, Shawanda Moore; nieces, Kaleea Leverett, Lettie Bryan, Jasmine and Kadie Moore; nephews, Desmond K. Leverett, Dexter Jamal Leverett, Jaylen Moore, and EJ; devoted cousin, Linda Staten (Daija); Aunts, Betty Wallace, Brenda (Finnis) Cole, Yolanda Thornton, Georgia (David) Cobb, Janey Hampton, Linda Byrd, and Queta (Albert) Gordon; uncles, Michael (Veronica) Leverett, Eugene (Bridgette) Leverett, Myron Leverett, Charles (Patsy) Miller, Larry (Denise) Miller, Tony (Erika) Miller, Reginald (Doreitha) Leverett, Stacy (Tonya) Miller, Rufus Wallace, Jr., Samuel (Betty) Wallace, David (Alice) Lewis, and John (Anita) Miller, Jr.; a hosts of special cousins and friends.
Don, Jr. was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene (Louise) Leverett, Sr., Rufus and Willie Knighton Wallace, Mabel Miller-McGrew; aunts, Doris Bolden, Callie Wallace, and Quintella Coleman; uncles, Derrick (Veronica) Miller, Jerry Leverett, David (Patricia) Miller, Daniel Wallace; special friend, Tywanna A. Leverett and her sons, Trent and Trey Alford.
