Donald Kevin Henderson was born to the late Ulysses and Lucy Henderson in Birmingham, AL on November 30, 1956.
Donald was a graduate of West End High School. He later joined the United States Army in 1976 where he facilitated truck routes for several years. After leaving the military, Donald began working in construction hanging drywall and painting. He continued to work for more than 40 years. Donald also devoted over a decade of his life to the Prince George’s County Schools in Maryland as a beloved custodian.
Donald had a passion for fishing and music. He taught his daughter, grandchildren, and many others how to fish and he shared his love for music by DJing at school parties and other events throughout the 1990’s.
Donald was preceded in death by his siblings Rosia Clark, Michael Henderson, Reginald Henderson, and Jennifer Henderson. He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter LuKendra Johnson (Henry); step-daughter, Shernell Diggs; six siblings, Ulysses Henderson, Jr. (Lisa), Janice Watford (Sammy), Sharon Henderson, Glenda Elliott, Gregory Henderson, and Bryant Henderson; five grandchildren, Xaviour Smith, Clayton Rainey, II, Kionna Goode, Shyla Diggs, and Bella Ferrell; one great-grandchild, Marcell Bullock; and a host of other family and friends.
His intelligence and humor provided his family and friends with many laughs and unforgettable memories, and will be tremendously missed.
