Delphine Curtis Ruffin Obituary

Delphine Curtis Ruffin was born May 18, 1958 in Butler, Alabama. She was born to Deacon Dan Curtis and the late Deaconess Exie Lee Curtis.

Debbie, as she was affectionately called gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Gilfield Missionary Baptist Church. Her first priority was to love the Lord. This was substantiated by her faithful, steadfast pursuit of His Word, and her desire to strive for maturity in Him. Her love for Family was authentic and unfeigned and she ensured everyone was taken care of in their time of need.

Delphine was an alumni of the Choctaw County High School and an esteemed member of the bicentennial class of 1976. She worked professionally 15 years as a salesperson for Dillards Department Store until her health declined. After becoming a full time homemaker, she thoroughly enjoyed studying the bible, watching the game show network and old western TV shows.

She was joined in holy matrimony with Carl M. Ruffin Sr. in 1996.

Delphine was proceeded in death by her mother, Deaconness Exie Lee Curtis; a brother, Malvin Curtis; and a sister, Sharon Hopson.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her husband of 24 years, Carl Ruffin Sr, Butler, Al; her devoted and loving father, Dan Curtis, Pushmataha, AL; her children, Shamane (Dorothy) Curtis, Gulfport MS; Matt Curtis, Pushmataha, AL; Kenyatta (Samuel) Dixon, Biloxi, MS; three step children, Keith Luden,Lisman, AL; Anitra Ruffin, Birmingham, AL; Carl (Rose) Ruffin Jr, Meridian MS; four sisters, Marguerite Lynch, Bessemer AL;  Cathy (James- deceased) Eddie, Pushmataha, AL; Tess ( Jessie) McCall, Biloxi, MS; Lillie (Ezell) Davis, Meridian, MS; two brothers, Andrew (Etta) Curtis, Meridian MS; and Alvin Curtis, Pushmataha, AL. She leaves behind five grandchildren and the youngest held a special place in her heart; her best friend, Kameron Dixon; a host of nieces, nephews cousins, close relatives and friends that she loved dearly.
