Deacon Cornelius (Cardine) Bruton was born on January 7, 1964 in Lisman, Alabama. He was born to the late Sis. Anna B. Bruton Ruffin.
“Brucat,” as he was affectionately called, gave his life to Christ at an early age, and was baptized at the Gilfield Missionary Baptist Church. His priority was the Lord; this was evident in his prayers, (a mighty prayer warrior), and his work in the church.
Deacon Cornelius served as Deacon, Usher and Laymen. His love for family was unconditional, and with a sense of deep compassion.
Deacon Cornelius gained his wings on January 26, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sister Anna B. Ruffin; step-father, Rev. Robert Ruffin.
He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted cousins, Edward (Anito) Knighton, Bessie (Steve) Ray, Robert Moody, and Sister Benetta Bumpers; three (3) aunts, Mary Jones, Marie Bacus, Betty Butler; one (1) uncle, Arthur Bruton, the Curtis Family/devoted father-in-love, Deacon Dan Curtis, devoted brothers-in-love, Deacon Andrew (Etta) Curtis and Brother Alvin Curtis; and a hosts of other relatives and friends.
