Mother Christine Johnson was born February 11, 1930 to the late Jean and Jessie Mae Johnson in Yantley, Alabama.
She joined the Mt. Mariah Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, and was a faithful and loyal member. She held many positions in the church. Mother Christine was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Brookins Chapter #166.
She was united in marriage to Lonnie Lee Johnson, and to the union five children were born.
She departed her earthly life on March 23, 2022 peacefully at her home. Mother Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Lee Johnson; her daughters, Mary Catherine Irby and Jessie Ann Mitchell, and 5 siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her children: Dessie (Archie) Thompkins, Yantley, Alabama; Lonnie Gene (Judy) Johnson, Columbus, Georgia; Leisa Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia; a sister, Versey Price, Houston, TX and a brother, Felton Brown, Cincinnati, Ohio; son-in-law, George Mitchell, Lisman, Alabama; 9 grandchildren, Tonia Johnson, Patrick (Tiffany) Johnson, Cordale Irby, Deland Hill, Kevin (Karin) Johnson, Keaundra Johnson, Darris (Johnquitta) Johnson, Christopher Johnson, and Jetta Mitchell. She also leaves a host of great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and numerous friends.
