Betty J. Pringle-Portis was born on July 20, 1953 to the late parents of Ezell Pringle, Sr. (father) and Annie Ruth Baskin-Pringle (mother). She was married to Tommy L. Portis, Jr.
She was a woman who loved to cook, spend time with family, friends, and loved ones.
During her lifetime, she worked in the cafeteria. She had a big heart to cook for a neighborhood with open arms. She loved all of her grandchildren dearly. Also, she had the opportunity to babysit her granddaughter “Yani” Monday through Friday whom she called “My Angel.”
Betty is preceded in death by her parents: Ezell Pringle, Sr. and Annie Ruth Baskin-Pringle; her sisters and brothers: Ola Bell Harbin, Jessie Ruth Pringle-Ruffin, Henry Pringle and Jimmy Pringle.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her five children: Regina (Frank) Pringle-Holder, Crystal (Deontate) Portis-Leary, Jamarl Portis, Valerie Slay, and Mikica Davis; three grandchildren: D’errion Pringle, Tanganyika Pringle, and Trevonte Harbin; three great grandchildren: Nolan Harbin, Yani Pringle and Paisley Pringle; her sisters: Carrell (Ezekial) Pringle, Lisman, AL, Ola Mae (Green Lee) Keeton, Yantley, AL and Queen (Jule) Vines, North Carolina; her brothers: Cleveland Pringle, Warner Robins, GA, Ozell (Myra) Pringle, Tuscaloosa, AL, Roosevelt Pringle and Friend, Meridian, MS, Ezell (Willie Mae) Pringle, Lisman, AL, Howard (Rosie) Pringle, Lisman, AL, Robert (Katherine) Pringle, Lisman, AL and Will (Diane) Pringle, Lisman, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and three devoted friends: Johnny Carswell, Eugene Bohler, Warner Robins, GA and Gloria Pace, Gilbertown, AL.
