“For 75 years, I have watched the sun rise in the morning, but on July 27, 2023, I saw my last sunset. I had a fulfilling life, but my journey is now over. Rejoice! I have gone to be with the Lord.”
Archie Thompkins was born June 5, 1948 to the late Tobe & Mary Ella Thompkins. He is proceeded in death by a special niece, Wanda “Tootsie” Thompkins Mills.
At an early age, he dedicated his life to Christ at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Yantley, AL. He graduated from the Choctaw County Training School in Lisman, AL. Shortly after graduating, he dedicated 30 years to Sack n’ Save as their butcher. After his retirement, he did not sit still. He became passionate about gardening and assisting Mrs. Christine Johnson with her yearly butchering of pigs. These past times fed many families in the community. His good deeds were never-ending.
