Willie Mae Harris

Sis. Willie Mae Harris was born on September 18, 1917, to the late Perry Ruffin, Sr. & Nettie Easley Ruffin in Pushmataha, AL.  From an early age, she was reared by her elder brother and his wife, Frank & Luberta Easley in Riderwood, AL.

She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, where she remained a dedicated and faithful member until her death.  She was united in marriage to the late Ed Harris on November 16, 1941 in Riderwood, AL.  To this union, was born five children: Roger, Frank, Prentella, Electa, and Johnny.

She enjoyed her family, church family, attending Wednesday morning Bible Study, and her community.  She departed this life on August 28, 2018 at 1:45 p.m. at Anderson’s Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS.  She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, her husband, two sons, Roger and Frank, and one granddaughter, Michelle McSwain.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three children: Prentella (James) McSwain, Electa Manuel and Johnny Harris; a devoted daughter-in-law, Callisa D. Harris; her grandchildren, who she loved dearly, Wanda McSwain, Michael (Katreina) Harris, Sr., Sharon Harris, Rhonda (Herb) Thompson, Valerie Cagler, Tomorra Harris, DeShawn (Tiarra) Harris and Christian (Valisha) Lloyd; her 12 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.  Also to cherish her memories, 3 sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, church family, loved ones and friends.
