Preston Collins, Jr. was the second child born to the late Preston and Elner (Edna Lee) Collins in Butler, Alabama on April 9, 1958.
Preston graduated from Choctaw County High School in 1978. After graduation, he became employed at Burlington Industries. Preston later went to Job Corps. He then moved to Mobile, Alabama. He returned home for a short while, until he began to have health challenges, and he moved back to Mobile, Alabama.
Preston was preceded in death by his parents.
After a brief illness, Preston finished his journey on earth and departed this world in Birmingham, Alabama on March 29, 2018.
Preston is survived by four sisters: Rose (Levorn) Harbin of Butler, Alabama; Josephine (Arthur) Spear of Killeen, Texas; Patricia (Sellie) Ross of Detroit, Michigan; Carol Jones of Lisman, Alabama; three brothers, Anthony Collins of Butler, Alabama; Claude (Janet) Collins of Meridian, Mississippi; Calvin (Thomasena) Collins of Birmingham, Alabama; one aunt, Dorothy Dickerson; three uncles, Robert Jackson of New Orleans, Louisiana; William Jackson of Mobile, Alabama; William Johnson of Butler, Alabama; two great aunts, Effie Johnson of Butler, Alabama and Velma Collins of Indiana; four nephews, eleven nieces, nine great-nephews, nine great-nieces, and a host of cousins and friends.
