Mamie Kate (Sturdivant) Holcombe

Sister Mamie Kate Holcombe was born August 25, 1929 in Yantley, Alabama to the late David and Judy Sturdivant.  She departed this life on Friday, December 23, 2016 at her resident.

Sister Mamie Holcombe accepted Christ at an early age.  She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Chester Holcombe, Sr., who preceded her in death.

She became a member of the True Light Holiness Church in Yantley, Alabama, where she served as church secretary until her health failed.

She leaves to cherish her memories 10 children:  one son, Stanley Holcombe, preceded her in death; Dezia Ezell, Shelia Luden, Essie (Albert) Ezell, Christopher  (Priscilla) Holcombe, Barney (Ella) Holcombe, Kent (Kaycee) Holcombe, Fannie (Samuel) Bellamy of Houston, Texas; Chester (Ann) Holcombe of Akron, Ohio; Thomas Holcombe of Anderson, Indiana and one stepdaughter, Vivian (Tony) Williams of Knoxville, Tennessee; one brother, Dansby (Lillie) Sturdivant of Victorville, California; sisters-in-law, Gustine Chambers of Mobile, AL; Cathy Sturdivant of Cincinnati, Ohio; Bernice Sturdivant of Akron, Ohio; Jessie Sturdivant of Victorville, California; Betty Holcombe of Detroit, Michigan; twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
