George Andrews

Brother George Andrews was born on November 3, 1940 to Lelia and Sylvester “Boise” Andrews.  He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Slater C.M.E. Church, Toxey, Alabama.  After graduating from Choctaw Training School, he moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he obtained a job with American Airlines.  He later transferred to Texas and he remained with American Airlines until he retired after more than thirty years of dedicated service.  After retiring, he returned home to Toxey, Alabama where he remained until God called him home on Friday, April 14, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lelia and Sylvester “Boise” Andrews, six brothers, Sammie, Arlester “Goodman”, Melvin “Ben”, Jessie and Arthur “Jim” Andrews and two sisters, Lucille Edwards and Burnice Andrews.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: two brothers, Charles “CA” (Faye) Andrews, Mobile, AL and Dennis Andrews, Toxey, AL.  One son: Darryl (Gloria) Thompson, New York.  Two grandchildren:  Darryl Thompson, Jr. and Tamara Thompson, New York.  One great-grandchild:  Za’Maria Thompson, New York and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
