Elijah Roberts, Jr. was born on January 6, 1943 to the late Elijah Roberts, Sr. and late Lurene Roberts in Yantley, Alabama.
He joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at an early age.
Elijah attended high school at Choctaw County High School in Lisman, Alabama. He was an electrician at IBEW and later became a truck driver.
Elijah met and married Shirley Easter, and to this union five children were born, and also two additional children. He loved all of his children dearly, and each one of them had a special place in his heart. He was a great provider.
Elijah departed this life on Friday, March 2, 2018 with his children and sister by his side. Before his transition, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Elijah was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah Sr. and Lurene Roberts; two brothers, Emanuel Roberts, Robert James Roberts; two sisters, Betty Sue Austin and Louise Sunder.
He leaves to cherish his memories: five sons, Aaron Roberts (Margie) of Chicago, Illinois; Terry Roberts of Chicago, Illinois; Michael Roberts (Gloria) of Chicago, Illinois; Daron Roberts of Chicago, Illinois; Cedric Roberts of Los Angeles, California; two daughters: Jacqueline Hardy (Excell) of Chicago, Illinois and LaKesha Roberts (Anthony) of Los Angeles, California; one brother , Johnny Roberts (Deborah) of New Orleans, Louisiana; one sister, Clarie Holder of Los Angeles, California; friend, Fay Blackmon; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
