James D Thompkins

James David Thompkins was born on February 24, 1951 to Frank “Candy” Thompkins and Amerson Watkins Thompkins.  James, affectionately known as J.D. or Dee, was the youngest of eight children.  He confessed Christ at an early age at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Lisman, Al.  “Dee” graduated from Choctaw County Training School in 1969 and retired from Mid South Lumber, Inc.

Dee transitioned from this earthly life on April 9, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Amerson Thompkins, his sister, Carrie Dixon and his brothers, Riley Watkins and James “JB” Thompkins.

He leaves to cherish his memories, the love of his life Deborah Ann Thompson; his sons:  Omar, Christopher and James D. Thompkins, Jr.; stepchildren:  LaQuita, Breanna, Tramaine and Terrance Thompson; his brother:  Frank Thompkins; his sisters:  Mattie Mae Thompkins, Katherine Dodson and Jessie Baker.  He also leaves a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends, special nephew Clarence Crowell and his “best friend in the whole wide world” Jakeyse Thompson.
