Fredrick Bonner Obituary

Frederick Lee Bonner was born November 19, 1970 to Curtis Lee and Mary Tyson Bonner at the Choctaw General Hospital in Butler, Alabama.

He confessed Christ at an early age at Wesley United Methodist Church, and withheld the Christian faith and devotion throughout his life.

He attended Butler Elementary School and was an Advanced Academic Honors Graduate of Choctaw County High School in Butler, Alabama. 

He received a scholarship to attend Stillman College, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he received a B.S. in the Dual Degree Program in Electrical Engineering, through the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  While at Stillman College, Fred pledged Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, Gamma Chi Chapter in the Fall of 1990.  It was there where he developed life-long friendships.

He married Angela Lankford, and they built their house and moved to McIntosh, Alabama.  After the untimely death of Angela, he later married Helen King.

He was a great and faithful member of the Coon Cookout Association of Gainestown, Alabama.  Fred loved to fish, shoot pool and fire up the grill.

He was a member of Goodstone AME Zion Church, Leroy, Alabama.

He leaves to cherish a devoted mother, Mary T. Bonner, Butler, AL; stepson, Haven Melton, Leroy, AL; stepdaughter, Halle Melton, Leroy, AL; 2 brothers, Reginald (Bobbie), Montgomery, AL; Curtis, Jr. (Latonia), Butler, AL; 2 sisters, Avary, Butler, AL; Shannon, Lisman, AL; aunts, Josephine Lassiter, Sallie (Robert) Hill, Willie Mae Miller, Susie (David) Edwards, Geneva Ray, Mable Tyson, Pearlie Tyson, Catherine Tyson, Lora Mae Walker, Vona Mae Thrash, Bonnie Robinson, Faye Bonner, and Nancy Wells; a special and devoted friend,

Pamela King; 3 close friends, Nathaniel Baker, Clyde ‘C.J.’ Mack and Jimmy King; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Angela Lankford Bonner; his father, Curtis Lee Bonner, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, McKinley and Ida Mae Kirksey Bonner; his maternal grandparents, David and Mattie Jones Tyson; aunt, Virginia McDuffie; uncles, Freeman Bonner, Townsurel Tyson, Frank Tyson, George Tyson, Hayse Tyson, Lincoln Tyson, and Joe Bonner.
