Mattie B Tanks

Mrs. Mattie Bordain Tanks was born April 15, 1922 to the late William and Beatrice Rodgers Bordain in Cann Hill, Sumter Co, AL.  She was proceeded in death by two brothers Matthew (Ben) Bordain and Albert George Bordain.

She confessed to Christ at an early age and united with the Taylor Mission Methodist Church of Sumter Co, AL.  She later joined John The Baptist Church when she united in Holy Matrimony December 22, 1937 to the Late J.C. (Jake) Tanks.  To this union two Daughters and Eight Sons were born.  Three sons preceded her in death: 2 infants and Dan C. Tanks.

She leaves to Cherish her Memories:  Ralph (Jacqueline) Tanks, Beatrice (Lee Charles) Ruffin, William Earl (Margret) Tanks, Willie V. (John) Artis, Dennis (Geraldine) Tanks, Arlester (Debra) Tanks and Anthony Ray Tanks.  One Daughter-In-Law Areatha Tanks; 20 Grandchildren and 27 Great-Grandchildren, 12 Great-Great Grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was a very studious and believed in being productive.  She loved gardening, quilting, and her precious flowers.

She departed her life at home peacefully on the evening of August 27, 2018.
