Annie Ruth (Baskin) Harris

Mrs. Annie Ruth Harris, age 84, of Pushmataha, AL, gained her heavenly angel wings on Friday, May 17, 2019.  She departed this life at Willow Trace Nursing Center of Butler, AL.  Mrs. Harris was born on November 4, 1934 to the late Mrs. Jannie Baskin and Ossie Baskin, Sr., in Riderwood, AL.  She accepted Christ at an early age and later became a member of Gilfield Missionary Baptist Church in Lisman, AL.  Mrs. Harris was educated in New Life Settlement School of Choctaw County.  She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and G.E.D. classes and winning awards with her Avon sales.  She was also a member of The Eastern Star.

Mrs. Harris was the beloved wife of Willie James Harris (Buck) for over 48 years until his death in 2002.  Unto this union were born five daughters:  Judith C. Ruffin (Charlie – deceased), Mary Ann Harris, Gladys H. McCurdy (Leander), Mildred Harris, and Janie Robinson (Gary).

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Julian Baskin, Ossie Baskin, Jr., and Nellie Mars.

Also to cherish her memory are two stepdaughters and four stepsons, Clarece Pennington, Myra Harris, Ulysses Harris, Bobby Harris, Johnny Harris, and Thomas Harris; a devoted sister, Pauline Harbin (Rev. T. C. Harbin); three sisters-in-law, Clara Anderson, Flora Harris, and Cassie Harris, along with a host of deeply adored grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and dear friends.  May she ever rest in the arms of Jesus, surrounded by love.
