Robert Lee Pearson Sr.

Robert L. Pearson, Sr. was born July 28, 1937 to Stance Pearson and Lucille Washington Pearson.  He departed this life on February 23, 2017 at home in Toxey, Alabama.

Robert joined Mt. Mariah Baptist Church where he attended until moving to New York, NY.  He united in Marriage to Ella Everett and to that union three children were born, Kenneth, Robert, Jr. and a daughter who died at birth.

Robert worked for North American Specialties for eleven years where he was a heat treater of electrical contacts used to build missiles.  He later worked for Marlin Offshore Oil Drilling until retirement.  Robert was also a certified electrician and plumber.

Upon returning to Alabama with his family, Robert reunited with Mt. Mariah Baptist Church where he served as trustee for a time and usher.  He loved talking and making people laugh and feel good.  He never met a stranger.  His personality was most unique.  What you saw was what you got and what came up, came out.

Left to cherish his memories are: his wife, Ella Pearson, Toxey, AL; sons, Kenneth Pearson, Charlotte, NC and Robert Pearson, Jr., Toxey, AL; one granddaughter, Robyn Pearson, Tuscaloosa, AL who was raised as their daughter; his mother, Lucille Nicholson and mother-in-law, Lee Dressa Hawkins, both at Willow Trace Nursing Center in Butler, AL; two brothers, Johnny Pearson and Stanford Pearson (Donna), both of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Linda P. Kinslow (Rev. Willie Kinslow), Melvin, AL.  Also left are uncles, aunts, cousins, and many, many dear friends, far and near.
