Pearlie was born March 30, 1930 to the late Johnson O’Field, Jr. and Minnie Jewel Portis. She was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild.
Pearlie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life and united with Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in various capacities, until her health began to fail.
On November 1, 1947, Pearlie was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie James Anderson, and to this union twelve children were born. Four preceded her in death, Walter, Lester, Sylvia and Richard.
She was a Sunday School teacher, Youth Leader, member of Betty Larkin Circle, Quarterly President for First New Hope Past Worthy Matron Chapter #652 and Ladies Auxiliary VFW 5848.
Pearlie worked in the County School Systems for many years and retired from Vanity Fair Mills after many years of service.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a daughter, Pearlie Jemison, Pearl, MS; seven sons, Willie Anderson, Sacramento, CA; Alvin Anderson, Stanley, NC; Joseph (Theresa) Anderson, Lisman, AL; Timothy Anderson, Warner Robins, GA; Cedric (Sharon) Anderson, Lisman, AL; Michael Anderson, Parker, FL; Darrell (Jennifer) Anderson, Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, that she raised, La’Tangela Morris, Lisman, AL and Kierre (Samantha) Anderson, San Diego, CA; two sisters, Lacy Gordon, Milwaukee, WI and Annie Portis, Cuba, AL; one sister-in-law, Annie M. Adams, DeKalb, MS; one brother-in-law, Samuel (Linda) Anderson, Meridian, MS. She also leaves fourteen grandchildren, six adorable great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
