Louella (Collins) Hatch

Louella Collins-Hatch was born in Dicey Quarter, Riderwood Alabama on June 13, 1939.  She is the daughter of the late Roger and Corine Collins.  There were 12 siblings, nine preceded her in death.

Louella received an education in the Choctaw County school system where she graduated high school in 1958.  Upon graduation she relocated to New York and resided there until she took flight back to be with her Heavenly Father.  Mrs. Hatch was an active member of First Union Baptist Church under the pastorialship of Rev. Dr. James E. Wilson, Jr.  Since September 25, 1980, she was a faithful worker in whatever she did.  She performed domestic work and later became a hair stylist in Hempstead, Long Island New York.  Mrs. Hatch worked as a hat shipper in Manhattan before getting involved with her passion, community work.

As a community leader she displayed outstanding qualities and became known for her commitment and dedication to helping others.  She had not border for spreading love and compassion.  Due to her aggressiveness and accomplishments, She earned the title of Community Activist:  Later grasping the reputation of being a “Politician; a mover and a shaker.” 

Mrs. Hatch loved people she shared a special bond with so many individuals to name a few:  Her pastor, Rev. Dr. James E. Wilson, Jr., Rev. Dr. Angela S. Wilson, Rev. Ervin Melton, Rev. Dr. Joseph I. Shaw, Sandra Erickson, Gigi, Carmen, Father Nelson, Father Chris, First Union Baptist Church, Bernice Forest, Rev. Ecclesiates Goodwin, Rev. Theodis McSwain and Rev. Shern Collins.  Her love and bond consist of a list that never ends.  “Yes, it goes in on my friend.”

She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter; Tisha Hatch-Loveless (Julian) of New York, two sons; Tony (Tiller) Collins (Michigan) and Carlos Hatch, Jr. (NY); One adopted son, Donahue Smith, 6 grandchildren; Toya, Troy, Tyriek, Da’von, Jayda, and Robert, 2 sisters, Katie Bell Nicholson of Lisman, Alabama and Ida Collins-McCoy-Sasser (Chester) of Washington, DC, 2 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law and many nieces, nephews, cousins, special children and youths and friends.
