Gertha Mae Clay-Harris

Gertha Mae Clay-Harris was born to the late Henry Clay and the late Dora Brown-Clay on March 14, 1941 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Gertha confessed her life to Christ and joined the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Lisman, Alabama.

Gertha graduated from Choctaw County Training School in 1960.

Gertha met and married Willie H. Harris, and to this union six children were born.  One infant, Jacqueline, preceded her in death; as well as, two brothers, Johnny Clay and Tommie Clay.

Gertha departed this earthly life on Friday, January 26, 2018.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Laudele Harris, Hattiesburg, Mississippi; Michael Harris, Lisman, Alabama; three daughters, Rutha (John) Ollison, Lisman, Alabama; Gail Harris-Smith, Jackson, Mississippi; Evelyn Harris-Fitch (Delmare), Atlanta, Georgia; Yolanda Willis, Whynot, Mississippi; Michelle Easter Thompson, Lisman, Alabama; grandchildren, Marvin Portis, Jachin, Alabama; Tyrone Williams, Toxey, Alabama; Mario Harris, Jackson, Mississippi; Phillip Ollison, Lisman, Alabama; Jacqueline Ollison, Auburn, Alabama; Jaleesa Harris, Jackson, Mississippi; Kemeshia (Clinton) Smith, Jr., Montgomery, Alabama; Quintasha Hampton, Birmingham, Alabama; Leon (Tonquita) Hampton, Pike Road, Alabama; great grandchildren, Shondreka Dees and Lashanti Dees, Jachin, Alabama; Mila Ollison, Florida; nieces, Linda Bryant and Charlotte Bryant, Ward, Alabama; Valneshia Bryant and Carmen Bryant, Meridian, Mississippi; a dear aunt, Ethel Young, Hattiesburg, Mississippi; a dear cousin, Willie Ruth Blakley; dear friends, Marie Portis, Barbara Land and Carolyn Johnson; a host of other relatives, neighbors, and friends.
