Elaine Jimerson was born in Choctaw County, Ward, Alabama on September 14, 1956 to the late Frank Jr. and Ruthie Kate Jimerson.
After the death of her mother, Elaine lived a short period of time with her aunt, Bertha Sealey, and attend the York West End Junior High School, York, Alabama.
Elaine joined the St. John Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. William Larkin. She continued her education at the John McDonogh High School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Elaine was the fifth child of seven children, the mother of three, and the grandmother of four. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Gloria Jean Goodman, Ruby Nell Jimerson and Quentella Bowman, all of New Orleans, Louisiana.
She is survived by two sons: Darryl Sumler, Jr. and Lance Jimerson; a daughter, Marilyn Johnson; one brother, Jimmy (Sandra) Jimerson; two sisters, Glory Dean Jimerson and Carolyn Jimerson, all of New Orleans, Louisiana; four grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
